Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley Will Step Down as Power to Decide's CEO on October 10

September 4, 2025

Power to Decide announced today that Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, who has served as CEO since 2021, will be stepping down on October 10, 2025 to join the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation as the Vice President of U.S. Programs.

During her tenure, Dr. McDonald-Mosley strengthened Power to Decide’s role as a national leader in sexual and reproductive health. She oversaw the development of a multi-year Action Plan to scale our impact, deepened the organization’s focus on equity and access to information, and led Power to Decide in clearly positioning abortion as essential health care. Her leadership has reshaped the organization into one that is bolder, more inclusive, and better equipped to meet the needs of those most impacted by barriers to care.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to lead Power to Decide,” said Dr. McDonald-Mosley. “I am proud of all we have accomplished together to advance equity, expand access to health information, and stand for abortion and contraception as critical and basic health care. As I take on this new role at the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, I do so with humility, deep gratitude, and confidence in the staff, Board, and leadership team who will continue this critical work.”

“The Board of Directors is deeply proud of Dr. McDonald-Mosley and grateful for her leadership,” said Dr. Vincent Guilamo-Ramos, Chair of the Board at Power to Decide. “Her new role is a testament to the importance of our mission, the strength of the organization, and the talent she cultivated. As she takes her vision and expertise to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, we are excited about the next chapter for Power to Decide.”

To ensure a seamless transition, the Board has appointed Rachel Fey, VP of Policy & Strategic Partnerships and Marilyn Ayres, CFO, and, as Co-Interim CEOs. With their leadership, Power to Decide will continue to advance sexual and reproductive well-being and remain steadfast in our commitment to equity, access, and reproductive freedom. We look forward to building on this momentum together with our allies nationwide. Looking ahead, the Board will launch a national search to identify the organization’s next permanent CEO.
